John's Pass Village and Boardwalk, Madeira Beach

An early 20th-century fishing village-turned-tourist-attraction, John's Pass Village and Boardwalk connects the Gulf of Mexico with the Intracoastal Waterway, Tampa Bay, and Boca Ciega Bay. The town still supports a fishing industry. Fresh catches from the fishing fleet are served at many restaurants in the area. You'll see Jet Skis and parasails gliding across the surface of the water near a reconstructed pirate ship that rests in the harbor. Consider signing up for a dolphin-sighting tour to enjoy the antics of the attraction's most charming occupants. • Good restaurants, waterfront view, fresh air, shops, brewery/bars and more. Not a bad way to spend a little time in the Sunshine State. A bit crowded during the snowbird season and holidays.  more »

  • Awesome place to visit while vacationing in FLORIDA, all kinds of shops, different food places, great wine tastings, and beers. You are aloud to drink inside the location. Very good prices. John's pass village is just that has old town feeling great for couples or families. You DO have to pay to park but you can choose how long you want to pay for different length of times. We loved it, I got great items to take back home for memories to look back on forever.
  • This is another fun place to walk about the shops and enjoy a meal or ice cream. You can go on the board walk and watch the boats unload their fish of the day. The birds standing by for their hand outs is fun to watch too! Customers who catch their own fish from these boats can have it cooked by the restaurant tor a fee. And you might catch a dolphin or two bobbing their heads out of the water!
  • Fun place to take people visiting the area and get your tourist on. Lots of shops and restaurants. The Mad Pub is the place to go for mass consumption of delicious cold beer while the others shop. Tons of beers on tap. Great time and you can smoke.
  • This is a crowded touristy shop area if you're into that sort of thing. We ate at The Friendly Fisherman it has beautiful views and great food. You can walk around the area and stop at other little bars and restaurants. Parking's a little hectic but we always found a spot with no trouble. It has meter parking or a parking garage
  • Fun beach kitch shopping and dining and wonderfully family oriented. This area of Maderia Beach is my go-to fun spot. A short walk under the fun-to-watch lift bridge and you're on the clean sand by the channel. Rent or bring chairs and umbrella to protect from that intense Florida sun. A great place to soak in the rays, swim, fish or watch the boats coming and going. Check out the Mad Beach Brewery for great local brews, and tasty ,American with a twist, food. Games, videos and a hopping crowd in this respite from the sun and sand.
