The very tip of the southeastern United States, Southernmost Point, is a popular spot for photos. A sign once marked the spot, but a more permanent concrete buoy stands at the lookout point today. The attraction's name is misleading--the actual southern point is in a private yard next to the buoy's location--but it’s close. Put Southernmost Point into our Key West sightseeing planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

To do even if there is the queue to take the picture
É o ponto mais ao sul dos Estados Unidos (90 milhas apenas de Cuba). Costuma ter uma pequena fila para tirar fotos. Estacionar próximo, mesmo na rua, custa em media de $3,50 ppr hora. more »It is the southernmost point of the United States (90 miles only from Cuba). You usually have a small line to take pictures. Parking nearby, even on the street, costs in average of $3.50 PPR hour.
Its is a marker at the place but little else as in there in no shade to stand under also. Queues can be long just to click a picture with it and temperatures high. Strongly suggest carrying floppy hats or umbrella to be able to bear both. A shade for people to stand under to escape under would be nice. A small plaque to explain more tell a story would be great
I am not sure how I actually feel about this. It's just a landmark of the southernmost point. That's all it is! There is a huge line(why?no idea!)depending on the time and season you are here.My trip here ended up being sort of anti climatic. I had fun in Key west,no doubt there! had good food, good view of the ocean, but I could have done that in Miami too or Long key. If you are in Florida for a short period, you can skip Key west,I promise you are not missing much.
