  • Excellent visitors center, lots of good visual info about the key deer and other native animals. Friendly volunteers at the center and at the Blue hole. No deer spotted but we did see a female alligator, a green heron, a frigate bird and some turtles.
  • Drive down Key Deer Blvd to at least Blue Hole and you should be able to spot some. We saw about 4 during our midday visit.
  • Not exactly where we expected it to be (in a strip mall) but very fun and educational nonetheless. Worth a stop!
  • Post Hurricane Irma trip to the Keys. I love the Key deer, saw only one but it was mid-day. They are more plentiful at dusk. We tried to eat at No Name Pub, by the deer refuge, but it was too early in the day. Lots of storm debris piles & removal going on. But it will rebound & be beautiful again soon. I wanted to come here to support the Keys now. We were supposed to be in a VRBO house for September in Summerland Key, which was canceled of course. Already rented for next year!
  • Great with answering questions and guiding you to the Key Deer.
