The Prince Charles Cinema (PCC) is a repertory cinema located in Leicester Place, 40 metres north of Leicester Square in the West End of London. It shows a rotating programme of cult, arthouse, and classic films alongside recent Hollywood releases – typically more than ten different films a week on two screens (300 velvet seats downstairs and 104 high back leather seats upstairs). It also hosts the sing-a-long version of The Sound of Music, which has been shown on a regular basis for over five years, as well as The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Joseph and The Room. The cinema has achieved a cult status amongst fans, sticking out as the only independent cinema in the West End.

  • This is a nice cinema (albeit one whose main screen is a bit on the small side). Ticket prices are reasonable for downtown London. Staff were pleasant. Film presentation (I saw a 70mm print of Die.....  more »

  • Wonderful independent cinema, great showings. I attended the Ghibli movie marathon pajama party. Snacks and cuddly blankets are advised and welcomed, no alcohol for obvious reasons. There was a really friendly atmosphere which was only added to by the very cheery, kind, and fun staff members that worked the whole twelve hours we were trying to stay awake. The only small grouch I had was that the seats weren't that comfortable for me, I would have preferred cinema style rather than theatre style seats as when looking up at a screen for hours I need a head rest. I really recommend the place.
  • A real treasure - the last independent cinema in the west end which shows 4 different films each day including many classics. The prices are tremendous value. This is a great venue for film fans.
