The Iraq and Afghanistan Memorial in London commemorates British citizens, including both military personnel and civilians, who participated in the Gulf War, the Afghanistan War and the Iraq War. In these three conflicts, which took place between 1990 and 2015, 682 British soldiers lost their lives. A work by the sculptor Paul Day, the memorial is situated in Victoria Embankment Gardens, between the River Thames and the headquarters of the Ministry of Defence, in the vicinity of monuments commemorating the Second World War and the Korean War.

  • The Iraq and Afghanistan Memorial that commemorates British citizens, including military personnel and civilians, who participated in the Gulf War, the Afghanistan War and the Iraq War. The statue itself is located in Victoria Embankment Gardens, just outside the Ministry of Defence amongst other war memorial, and military leaders. It consists of two large monoliths, one to represent Iraq and the other Afghanistan. The two stones are separated by a narrow gap and support between them a thick bronze relief sculptures. On the front, facing the River Thames are three soldiers in a knelling position. On the rear, facing the Ministry building show civilians and their contributions.
  • The Iraq and Afghanistan Memorial was unveiled in 2017 to commemorate the British who participated in the Gulf War, the Afghanistan War and the Iraq War.
