#165 of 1,205 in Nightlife in London
The Bridge Theatre is a commercial theatre near Tower Bridge in London that opened in October 2017. It was developed by Nick Starr and Nicholas Hytner as the home of the London Theatre Company, which they founded following their tenancy as executive director and artistic director, respectively, at the National Theatre.

The theatre seats 900 and is a flexible space to accommodate each production. For example, the opening production, Young Marx, featured a traditional proscenium arrangement, Julius Caesar had the stalls seating removed to be in promenade and allow the audience to be part of the mob within the play, and Nightfall was performed on a thrust stage. It was reported that the theatre had cost £12million to build.

  • One of the newest theatres to London, this is going to become a real jewel in the creative crown. Situated about 10 mins from London Bridge Station, beside city hall, this theatre boasts a stalls area and 3 galleries. It is quite compact, so most seats offer fantastic views. I sat in the stalls and the seats are the best I've ever had in a theatre, really comfy with fantastic legroom, such a nice experience. The staff are friendly, there is a large bar area, and lots of toilets. Do support this theatre if you get the chance!
  • I, so far, have been to every production put on at the Bridge Theatre. It is always a great experience with reasonably priced ticket, great food and brilliant productions. One point of particular note is the programmes which a well priced and not stuffed full of ads, but rather great content which adds to the value of the production. I can't wait to come again!
