Built on seven hills, Lisbon has experienced a renaissance in recent years, making it the cultural star of Portugal.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Alfama and Belém Tower. Get in touch with nature at Praia de Carcavelos and Rent a Boat. Step out of Lisbon with an excursion to Miguel Mourao Ocean Skipper in Lagos--about 3 hours away. Spend the 25th (Mon) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. Next up on the itinerary: explore the world behind art at Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, look for gifts at Sapataria do Carmo, shop like a local with A Arte da Terra, and step into the grandiose world of Castelo de S. Jorge.

The most well-known city in the Algarve, Faro boasts a cliffside location with popular beaches and a thriving cultural scene.
We've included these beaches for you: Praia de Cacela Velha and Praia do Barril. Head to Canastra and Tavira d'Artesfor plenty of shopping. Change things up with a short trip to Cabanas de Tavira Beach in Cabanas (about 42 minutes away). Next up on the itinerary: stroll around Ria Formosa, browse the fresh offerings at Mercado Municipal de Loulé (Desde 1908), explore the ancient world of Roman Ruins of Milreu, and get to know the fascinating history of Old Town Faro.

Shop till you drop at Via Condotti and Trevimage. Get in touch with nature at Colle del Gianicolo and Catacombs of Saint Callixtus. There's still lots to do: explore the ancient world of Pantheon, look for gifts at Serra, steep yourself in history at Colosseum, and don't miss a visit to St. Peter's Basilica.
