Cultural capital of South America, Buenos Aires remains one of the largest cities on the continent, serving as a point of departure for exploring the rest of the country.
Catedral de San Isidro and Palacio de Aguas Corrientes will appeal to history buffs. Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Parque 3 de Febrero and Palermo. Change things up with a short trip to Peru Beach in Acassuso (about 36 minutes away). There's still lots to do: take a stroll through Palermo Soho, take in the history at Plaza de Mayo, explore the galleries of Museo Nacional De Arte Decorativo, and admire the masterpieces at Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.

Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Kick off your visit on the 14th (Fri): get engrossed in the history at Museo Larco and then kick back and relax at El Silencio. Keep things going the next day: take an in-depth tour of Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Church and Sanctuary of Saint Rose of Lima, pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral of Lima, then take a stroll through Miraflores, and finally steep yourself in history at Huaca Pucllana.

You can fly from Buenos Aires to Lima in 8 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or take a bus. You'll gain 2 hours traveling from Buenos Aires to Lima due to the time zone difference.
