Enjoy the stunning scenery of Promthep Cape, one of the most photographed and widely renowned locations on Phuket Island. The headland rises from the azure waters, covered in a light scrub with a few spindly palm trees. Every evening crowds of tourists pour off buses to watch a spectacular sunset. Nearby a restaurant serves gourmet food against the dramatic backdrop, and a lighthouse provides panoramic views of the island and also houses several historical maritime artifacts. • Make sure you get there in time for sunset. There is a small dirt path that takes you through some brush and if you're adventurous, you can stand on the southern most tip of Phuket where this photo was taken, right by the sea. Be careful though, it can be a rough trek - about 20 minutes or so.
  • Definitely worth the hike down all the way to the bottom. It's an amazingly beautiful place. Out of this world kinda view. Wish i could stay till sunset but l had to catch a flight. If i can, world definitely return for the sunset view.
