The Elephant Rescue Park is a newly established sanctuary in the Chiang Mai province of Thailand, created to be a forever home for homeless and abused elephants. In Thailand, we have a long and deeply traditional relationship with these magnificent animals, however, much of this relationship has been based on the exploitation of elephants by humans in the form of circus shows, the tourism industry, the logging industry and elephant back riding, among others.Use our Chiang Mai trip planner to arrange your visit to Elephant Rescue Park and other attractions in Chiang Mai.
Our primary objective is to provide a safe, loving and secure environment for the elephants that come to us, which we are able to do with your help, through visiting our beautiful sanctuary and supporting us through adoptions, donations and various fundraising projects.

Elephant Rescue Park provided my wife and I with memories we will have forever. We were nervous about booking and did a lot of research because we wanted to support people who genuinely cared for the elephants. Our two day program was outstanding. We interacted in genuine fashion with the elephants: feeding, brushing, bathing and tending to a recent rescue, recovering from her injuries. Bring a camera and changes of underwear and socks, you won't want to miss the joy of bathing the elephants. Uniforms, sun hats and boots are provided for each day you're there. And be ready to learn everything you always wanted to know about elephants, as well as about the sad lives many are leading. I can honestly say that Kid, Andy, Woods, and Tony, the English speakers I interacted with over our two days, are deeply committed to the well-being of their elephants. We were part of a group of 5 in the overnight program. 5 of us, 6 elephants, we had so much special time with them. One of the things I never read in other reviews is what I observed about the mahouts, the caregivers for the elephants. Each elephant has his own mahout, and each pair are deeply connected. When they walk together, it was beautiful to watch the elephants reach out with their trunk so they can hold their man's hand. Kid, the "Father" of the rescue camp, has hired each of his Mahouts from some sort of difficult background, and, as much as these men give to the elephants, I suspect that the elephants have made an even greater impact on their lives, not only providing them with employment, but giving them a sense of value and purpose. There are other good and moral companies out there I know, but for us, the chance to be part of a small group experience like this was the best choice. I highly recommend this company, especially if you have time to take the overnight option.
Fantastic day i spent here. Everything was such amazing experience and would recommend to any one who visit Chiang Mai, to book and see the elephants. Everyone at the rescue park do such a fantastic job for the elephants. The guides were very interactive and gave the group good knowledge and interesting facts about the elephants also they had a good laugh with the group and some of the elephants keepers had a wacky but enjoyable nature to them who also interacted with the group as well as look after their elephants. Well done all and keep up the good work as you all made today special for me.
