  • This is the place for everyone. Scenic, historical, city-life... From brisk - walk to hard-core jog, you can do it here. Food carts are available on strategic locations but if you are on a budget, you can can always bring your own home-cooked meals and bring the whole family to have a picnic and watch the beautiful fountain show. National Historic Building, Planetarium, Manila Ocean Park, Quirino Grand Stand are only short walk.
  • One of the few nice parks you can find around Metro Manila. Also dubbed as one of the best parks in South East Asia. Better to stroll here on mornings or late afternoon when it's not so hot. There's a ice cream, places where you can just sit and relax, free of charge.
  • I spent a nice few hours with my brother, walking around and being tourists. There was music at the fountain but I would have preferred if they played Filipino music instead, something more culturally appropriate.
  • Amazing place to visit and relax. Please visit the Rizal monument. It will be worth seeing Philippine history. The different gardens give awesome experiences. Try to visit all.
  • Historical place. Visiting in the afternoon (around 4pm onwards) is the perfect time to relax and unwind. Museums are within the vicinity, a playground with a small entrance fee is also within the park and Manila Ocean Park can be reached on foot from here.

Where to stay in Manila

Manila has the full spectrum of hospitality options, from highly affordable hostels you can book on the spot to luxury four- and five-star resorts. Opt to stay in mid-range and upscale hotels clustered around the central business district, or score sea views at the resorts facing Manila Bay. If you choose to go for the budget-friendlier hostel, note that many have large dorm rooms with many bunk beds, catering primarily to job-seekers, while others are designed for young backpackers looking to make new friends.
