Srah Srang, Siem Reap

3.4
#3 of 8 in Nature in Siem Reap
Water Body · Hidden Gem · Historic Site
Experience the view of a sunrise reflecting on Srah Srang. The reservoir stretches over an area of 350 m by 700 m (1,148 ft by 2,296 ft), but water floods only a part of it. See the legacy of the Buddhist minister Kavindrarimathana that dates back to the 10th century, noting the architecture of the place, with stone serpent heads and garudas with unfurled wings. As you approach the water on the steps guarded by two stone lions, soak up the ancient atmosphere of the baray. • Big Pool of The Angkor Era
  • Srah Srang is the second best place to see the sunrise in Angkor and I can see why. The calm and amazing pond is a big mirror that will take your breath away once the sun takes the sky!
