One of the city's iconic landmarks, Central Market represents one of the best places to feel the pulse of the city, while you browse for souvenirs and bargain like a local. The market occupies a yellow art deco building from 1937. A huge stepped dome that covers its main hall--cool and vented even on a hot day--is its most distinctive feature. The four "arms" of the structure stretch from the four sides of the dome and are packed with stalls displaying an impressive array of goods from fresh food and clothing to gold jewelry and antique coins. Plan your visit to Central Market and a wealth of other attractions, well-known and undiscovered, using our Phnom Penh itinerary planner.

Central Market is lots of fun and well worth a visit. For a market is large and spacious and you don’t feel closed it. We visited in Feb just as the Covid virus was breaking out and I’m not sure if... more »
This is a great place to buy cheap clothes, jewellery, fresh produce, flowers, souvenirs and a lot more. You can get plenty of imitation products. Be ready to bargain as they'll always quote high if you're a tourist. It's housed in an old French style building. Once apparently the largest market in Asia. You can easily spend a couple of hours browsing and shopping here. It is better to take cash in small denominations when you go.
They sell all kind of goods here - from souvenirs through clothes to the fresh fruits or fish. It is a large area mostly shaded. The corridors are more spacious than at other markets we have visited - I guess once feel more freedom to move and look around. However the prices are touristic even if you haggle.
